Our clients from the Petawawa Fire department came to us with a very specific design in mind. Ultimately, they wanted their hockey jerseys to look like a fire fighter jacket. They requested a custom front crest logo which was designed from scratch and based on their specific approvals throughout the process. The shoulder patches included a Fire fighter helmet and Maltese cross. The artwork was supplied by the customer as well as specific number fonts which were researched and chosen via online images.
While designing the custom front crest logo, we tried to find inspiration from existing NHL hockey logo’s. If you look closely it is apparent that the base of the logo is from the New York islanders fisherman logo from 1996 and with some minor edits we were able to execute a new custom look. We changed the fisherman into a firefighter by making his hat into a fire helmet, adding reflective stripes to his coat and making his beard into a mustache. We created a number of mock-ups while encompassing all the elements of the jersey for the customers final approval. Once approved, it was forwarded to our manufacturing department for execution of the digital image
For functionality, the customer decided upon our dry fit ice material which has a lighter weight and great stretch. Once design was finalized, finishing touches for embroidery files and patches were touched up and we added the 6″ micro mesh side panel for added comfort and breathability on the ice. The customers loved the finished product as the logo completes the jersey and really stands out on this firefighter custom jacket designed jersey.
